1. While Figures 4 and 5 show the results of a dry chemistry (reactions Nl-N7 and 11-114 in Table 1). a wet chemistry (adding N8-Nll) rearranges the molecular compounds below 80 km, but leaves the ion layer intact (Figure 7). A small decrease in the peak concentration of Mg' can be seen in this figure where the Mg' profile from Figure 4 is plotted as a dashed line along with the wet chemistry. The peak altitude moves up a little, but not a significant amount.
