1. Quadraticerrorcompensationwillimprovethesenumbersto"rms;avg=5.1×0.5=2.5mm,"rms;99%=12×0.5=6.0 mm,and"rms;99: 9%=16×0.5=8.0mm,obtainedwithnumbers taken from Fig. 15 (b). While this performancemay be acceptable for an L-band radar application, it should be further improved with additional active (geometric or electronic)correctiontosatisfy X-bandrequirements. An immediatequestionishowfarcubiccorrection-thenext step beyond quadratic control herein discussed - would go toward meeting X-band needs. This question, beyond thescopeofthe presentwork,is yettobeanswered.
