1. alhati' used an optical method (laser beam deflection) to study coherent structures in the first six diameters of flow for different axisymmetric jets with varying densities and Mach numbers (0.12 - 0.78). The length scales of the coherent structures in the jets increased as the flow progressed downstream. The convection velocities of the coherent structures initially increased as the flow progressed downstream, reached a maximum at four diameters and decreased afterwards.
