It reviews the basic principles of corrosion, friction, and wear, discussing the causes, effects, types, and testing methods. It describes more than 50 surface engineering techniques, including those that alter the metallurgy of the surface, those that change the surface chemistry, and those that add a layer or coating to the surface.
