Abstract

The review article outlines modern views on the etiology of microsporia, individual mechanisms of the infectious process and the formation of the clinical picture: differences in the functioning of Toll-like receptors (TLR2) can be comparable with concepts and species, genus and other taxa. Cats not only play a leading role in the epidermal process of microsporia, but also represent the best model for its study. Microsporiain children under the age of 1 year is the most relevant in pediatric clinical mycology due to the limited arsenal of external and systemic means of eradication of the fungus. Topical steroids (TS) should not be used to stop the inflammatory process in microsporia.
