Abstract

Justification. The genetic predisposition to the development of dental caries is an unexplored problem. The study of the effect of gene polymorphisms on dental morbidity and the use in the preparation of individual prevention programs has a high prognostic value. Objective: to monitor the effect of polymorphism of the VDR and CA12 genes on the condition of dental hard tissues in young people. Methods: 59 out of 100 examined people (25 men, 34 women, age 22-25 years) were isolated, divided into groups according to the indicator of homozygous polymorphism of genes:1-VDR(n=19), 2-CA12(n=32), 3-combined VDR and CA12(n=8). In each of the groups, the CPI index, the pH of mixed saliva, and the level of 25 (OH) vitamin D in blood serum were determined. Results. In the first group, CP 15.11±0.15, cholicalceferol deficiency 17.4±0.7; in the second group: intensity index 16.99 ±1.43, saliva pH change 6.8 ±0.01; in the third: The CPU is 17.92±1.37, pH 6.3± 0.11, 25 (OH) vitamin D 13.7± 0.4. Conclusion. In patients with polymorphism of the VDR, CA12 genes, a high rate of caries intensity, a shift in the pH level to the acidic side, and a deficiency of vitamin D in the blood serum were determined.
