Abstract

The article reviews the integration prerequisites of modular instruction in the context of higher education reforms. It presents the current trends in higher education system and the role of modular instruction. In the article the terms “module” and “modular instruction” are defined. It also focuses on different perceptions and interpretation of the term. The paper highlights the application of modular instruction in higher education identifying the benefits and challenges of the modular instruction for students, faculty and administration.
