Abstract
Modern higher education is responsible for the development of society
and the development of an individual. In today's world, where knowledge and
skills are more valuable, higher education plays an essential role in the
formation of human resources and intellectual capital. In this regard, the
tourism sector is not an exception. Being one of the branches of the global
economy, along with its development, it makes new demands on the field of
education. Tourism and hospitality organizations document the need for
highly qualified professionals with comprehensive knowledge and personal,
professional skills in management, marketing, psychology, culture and a
number of other disciplines. The main burden of the mission of forming
specialists with required abilities and skills is on higher educational
institutions. This article presents the development stages of tourism
education, the trends in the development of educational programs of
"Tourism" and "Hospitality" professions in different universities of the world.
