Abstract

Antimicrobial resistance has emerged as a global public health problem in recent years. Because of the indiscriminate use of antibiotics, pathogenic microorganisms have developed resistance to many types of drugs. Due to this, many types of serious treatment problems have been encountered. In such a situation, there is a need to explore new compounds from new natural sources. Wild macrofungi (mushrooms) can be seen as a new natural resource. On which not much research work has been done so far. There is a lot of diversity in the nature of wild macrofungi. On which research work can be done to develop new medicinal products in the near future. The present study aims to investigate the Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) against selected organisms by methanol extract of Phellinus pectinatus and identify the non-volatile compounds present in the extract by LC-MS analysis. The present results suggest that P. pectinatus may indeed be a potential source of antimicrobial agents as well as bioactive compounds.
