Abstract
With the rapid advancements in industry science and technology, mechanical
structures must respond to applications across diverse fields and scales.
However, traditional mechanical equipment faces challenges in sectors that
demand very small scales or intricate material properties, especially concerning
component assembly and precision. Mechanical metamaterials based on Kirigami and
Origami present a potential solution by enabling specific functionalities and
properties directly within the structure itself. This review article provides an
overview of this technology and highlights the trends in its applied
research.
