Abstract
The effective, equilibrium, and ideal separation factors in distillation processes (β, β0, and βi respectively) are considered in relation to dependences β(β0), β0(βi), and β(βi). On the examples of substances “base (Cd, Те, S, Zn, Se or As) – impurity”, a comparison of β0 and βi was made. The conclusion is made about the limited possibility of using the factor βi
instead of β0 in distillation calculations: β0 ~ βi if βi differs from unity by no more than one order of magnitude; the divergency β0/βi increases with increasing deviation βi from unity.
