Abstract
The article discusses the construction of a multi-speed gear hub for manual wheelchairs. This device enriches the manual string drive by three gears. The article describes the construction of a functional prototype of a patented technical solution. On the basis of the proto-type, the functionality of the device was tested and on this basis the corrections necessary to be introduced in the final product were defined.
