Abstract
The theoretical and empirical work of Dr. Maslow, which has helped to form a"Third Force" psychology, has been recognized widely within that discipline, which honors him this year as President of the American Psychological Association. In this essay, the relevance for education of much of his psychological theorizing is examined in detail, as the author explores the reinforcing role of "peakexperiences,"and discusses the general educational imperatives to be derived from his views of the process of "self-actualization."
