Abstract

We consider the relative group presentation [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. We show modulo a small number of exceptional cases exactly, when [Formula: see text] is aspherical. If [Formula: see text], then the exceptional cases occur when [Formula: see text] is isomorphic to one of [Formula: see text] or [Formula: see text].
