Abstract
In this paper, the composition Se[Formula: see text]Te[Formula: see text]S[Formula: see text] has been prepared by the melt quenching technique. Morphology of the bulk material has been investigated by field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). Thermal analysis has been carried out for the powder obtained from the bulk ingot. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) has been recorded at different heating rates. Thermal stability and crystallization kinetics have been investigated for the obtained glass. A mixed alloy, an amorphous–crystalline matrix, shows a lower glass forming ability and a high value of fragility index. Crystallization parameters have been derived based on temperature and time and compared. The obtained values for the transition activation energies and the order of crystallization reaction show a considerable agreement.
