Abstract

Three amplitudes for pd→3 He η, π+3 H →3 He η, pd→3 H π+ are related by a K-matrix. Free parameters are fitted to the data. This K-matrix indicates the existence of a virtual η3 He state and sizeable η-π mixing effects in the pd→3 He π0 reaction. The η-π mixing angle θ=0.6(3)o is extracted.
