Abstract

This paper deals with estimates of the type of advection semigroups with contraction boundary operator when the velocity space is bounded away from zero. Two approaches are given. The first one, using energy method, relies on Datko–Pazy's theorem while the second approach is based upon the analysis of the resolvent operator and the identity of the spectral bound (of generators) and the type of positive semigroups on Lp(μ) spaces by Weis.
