Abstract
The u-quark’s nonperturbative-QCD contribution to the s–d self-energy amplitude, though naively of sufficient magnitude (GF <ūu> sin θc cos θc) to enhance [Formula: see text] strangeness-changing processes, is shown to be suppressed by an additional factor of [Formula: see text], and to vanish in the chiral limit.
