COPPER TETRAMERS IN CaCuO2: AN EPR STUDY

Abstract

CaCuO2, one of the constituents of high-T c superconductors, has been studied by EPR. In deoxygenated phases, the study reveals the occurrence of isolated (CuO)4 units. More than one type (CuO)4 entities due to their association with disordered oxygen ions have been detected. The spin-Hamiltonian parameters for two types of (CuO)4 species have been reported.
