Abstract
We investigate the importance of the relativistic corrections in the Tolman–Oppenheimer–Volkoff equation for hyperon stars. In order to describe the hyperon dense matter we use two extreme cases of relativistic equation of state (EOS), a stiff one from the Walecka (W) model and a soft one from the Zimanyi–Moszkowski (ZM) model. We analyze the individual effect of these relativistic factors as well the global one f. We conclude that they are always important and larger for a stiff EOS, fw≈3.8 in comparison with f ZM ≈2.2, not very sensitive to the inclusion of hyperons, and the factor coming from the metric is the dominant one near the surface of the star.
