EFFECTIVE LAGRANGIAN FOR b→s PROCESSES WITH QCD-CORRECTIONS

Abstract

We present a complete calculation of the effective Lagrangian for b→s processes with QCD corrections, in the leading logarithm approximation, for the cases mt=mw and mt≫mw. The effective Lagrangian is then applied to estimate the b→sγ decay rate. We find that it is enhanced by a factor of 6 for the case mt=mw, and a factor of about 2 for mt≫mw. Our results differ from those found in the literature, but are not very different numerically. Also from our results, we infer that the higher-dimensional QCD effects are under control to about 15% level for the Wilson coefficients.
