Abstract
Conditions for the existence of chaotic behavior of some solutions of an equation of the form εx′(t)= -x(t)+f(x([t]), λ), where ε and λ are positive constants and [t] denotes the greatest integer in t, are given. If ε→0, it is shown that solutions tend to piecewise constant functions.
