Abstract

Several different models have recently been proposed to explain high temperature superconductivity. This is a review of two such proposals, namely the Hubbard and anyon models. There is a belief that they are actually interrelated and not mutually exclusive, although a convincing demonstration of any such connection is yet to be found. The choice of these topics as subjects of our review is dictated by our common interests. It is also dictated by our conviction of their physical importance regardless of their role in the study of the novel superconductors.
