Kinetics of Pulsed Laser Ablation-Deposition Process: A Case Study of the Ablation of α-Fe2O3 in Hydrogen

Abstract

The plasma plume formed during pulsed excimer laser ablation from an α- Fe2O3 target in hydrogen ambient is characterized by optical emission spectroscopy, for different hydrogen pressures. The films deposited at the same pressures are also examined by conversion electron Mössbauer Spectroscopy for phase identification. An attempt is made to establish a correlation between the plasma and film properties.
