Abstract

Mathematical morphology offers a rich framework for segmenting images and video sequences. We propose a unified presentation of these tools, expressed as a small number of distance transforms on graphs. The classical approach based on watershed and markers is reinterpreted in a multiscale framework and new results are presented, considerably enlarging the palette of available tools.
