Abstract

AbstractThe mechanistic events leading to alterations of DNA replication in normal and diseased cells remain unknown. The present study uncovers the role of a new class of non-coding RNAs induced in early S-phase, able to activate and repress replication origins formation. The discovery of a RNA-mediated mechanism governing the replication of c-MYC locus offers novel strategies to control DNA replication by modulating transcriptional activity, and pave the way for future clinical applications to treat cancer and genetic disorders.
