Abstract
Abstract
Downhole flow profiling is critical to understand performance of a well, maximizing oil recovery and optimize the development of entire field. To address the challenges in multiphase flow profiling and the limitations of conventional fluid holdup measurements in complex conditions, a new Production Logging (PL) solution integrates distributed density, refractive-index (RI), and fluorescence (FL) measurements for more accurate flow profiling and zonal allocation. Innovative optical and piezo helm resonator sensors are developed to overcome traditional limitations, providing independent detection of oil and gas and enabling distributed density measurement, respectively. Promising results from flow loop testing and field deployment are discussed and help to enhance confidence and redundancy in holdup measurements for improved well performance optimization.
