Abstract
This article by Douglas Rogers is one of many we have received that investigate recurrence relations—sequences in which each term is determined by one or more previous terms. Readers of “Delving Deeper” will recognize this theme from previous articles (see Askey 2004, 2005; Huang 2005; Sinwell 2004), and Rogers's article provides yet another approach to the problem of finding closed forms for recursively defined sequences. The article caught our attention for two other reasons.
