Abstract
In the title I ask two questions: Is the Cambridge Conference Report a blueprint giving detailed directions for the construction of the mathematics curriculum of the future? Or is it a fantasy that substitutes wishful thinking for an attempt to outline realistic goals that can be attained with flesh-and-blood pupils and teachers? I shall answer both questions immediately: It is neither. The rest of my discussion consists of elaboration and documentation of this answer.
