Abstract

Teachers interested in making problem solving an integral part of instruction can make any program work for a while! Unfortunately, even the most committed teachers cannot make problem solving a lasting part of their program unless all components needed for success are in place. Here's a checklist of components needed for a successful problem-solving program. Address each of these factors as you work with teachers in your school to develop a plan to make problem solving the focus of instruction.
