Abstract
Most elementary teachers, at some point in time, have commented on the creative behavior of individual students: “Johnny is so creative in all the art projects he has done for me.” “Carolyn just amazes me with her original stories and poems.” Teachers have observed, usually in art or language arts, that some children have more “creative ability” than others; but what is creativity? Can a student's creative ability be found only in certain areas? Why should we identify students with creative ability?
