Abstract

With the stigma, discrimination, and human rights violations it produces, HIV infection has shown us that it is not only a viral infection but also a biopsychosocial health problem, within 40 years of its emergence. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the HIV/AIDS rights violation reports published in Turkey from a social work perspective and to develop solutions against rights violations. In this study, the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Six reports published by the Positive Living Association formed the sample of this study. The data obtained were coded in the MAXQDA 20 program as themes and sub-themes. It has been determined that violations of rights are mostly experienced in health institutions, workplaces, public institutions and organizations, family / social environment, and media, and violations of rights are experienced in many areas. It has been determined that more action has been taken against rights violations since the publication of the reports. It is thought that social workers who struggle with social inequality and injustice should carry out applications in micro, mezzo, and macro dimensions against the violations of rights produced by HIV.
