Abstract
Abstract
What kinds of reproductive barriers are important for maintaining species integrity, and how are species boundaries preserved in the face of gene flow? Ivey et al. (2023) find little evidence for reproductive barriers and uncover a history of introgression between two incipient species of monkeyflower. These findings contribute to a growing body of work that calls for a reconsideration of how speciation dynamics are modeled at the macroevolutionary level.
