Abstract
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an increasingly important tool, with rapidly expanding implications for use in the field of nuclear cardiology. In this chapter the authors first review common terminology used in AI, including the differences between deep learning and classical machine learning. The potential role for AI to improve image processing or image segmentation is discussed, followed by the potential clinical role for AI in assisting with image reporting and the evidence for the use of AI to improve the diagnosis of disease or to predict risk. The authors conclude the chapter by reviewing potential clinical applications of AI and methods to improve its implementation.
