This chapter covers the risks to both the mother and fetus, management, and other issues related to infectious diseases during pregnancy. It includes rubella, measles, parvovirus B19, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex, and varicella zoster. It moves on to hepatitis A and B, influenza, COVID-19, Zika, Ebola, and other viral infections. It then covers group A and group B Streptococcus, listeria, syphilis, malaria, and toxoplasmosis. HIV in pregnancy, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care is explained, along with counselling for the parents. Finally, contraindications and recommendations of vaccination in pregnancy are explained.
