Abstract
Abstract
We studied the urinary excretion of organic acids by normal human subjects in an ambulant normal population, chosen without conscious bias. Quantitative ranges and frequency distribution patterns of excretion are reported, as a basis on which to compare results obtained for patients whose clinical condition suggests that their excretion values may be abnormal. The quantitative valuse we observed enable the relative significance of different urinary anionic metabolites to be assessed, including the recently identified aldonic and deoxyaldonic acids. The frequency distribution patterns observed are discussed briefly.
