Abstract

Rabbinic sources cited as evidence of an intrinsic or derived Gentile ritual impurity in ancient times do not in fact attest to the operation of such a principle. Sources concerning the impurity of Gentile utensils, the impurity of Gentile breastmilk, and the ritual of proselyte baptism are among the sources analyzed in this refutation of the views of Gedaliah Alon and others.
