Abstract
Abstract
In this essay, Kelly Howe offers a brief overview of the core branches of its oft-referenced tree. Furthermore, she provides examples of groups using Theatre of the Oppressed practices toward the causes of health and well-being. These examples constitute a concrete point of departure for what becomes a theoretical examination of some key moments in which happiness, well-being, and pleasure are addressed within the foundational texts of Theatre of the Oppressed, especially the writings of Augusto Boal.
