Topics include: Octavian’s capture of Alexandria; Octavian’s negotiations with Cleopatra; Cleopatra’s suicide; Octavian’s execution of Caesarion and Antyllus; Octavian’s personal domination of Egypt; the acceptance of Antony’s surviving children into Octavia’s household; the importance of Antony’s descendants, including Caligula, Claudius, and Nero, in the imperial household; Antony’s reputation in imperial Rome; speculations regarding Antony’s designs for Rome; Antony’s legacy.
