Abstract
Abstract
This chapter summarises the key arguments in the book and reflects on future trajectories for human rights due diligence (HRDD). It emphasises that HRDD remains a relatively new concept and that the processes by which the concept is being elaborated upon and legalised at multiple levels continue. There are many aspects of HRDD that merit ongoing scholarly attention and scrutiny. These include quantitative and qualitative analysis of HRDD’s implementation by business and its use by workers, trade unions, and others as a point of leverage through which to contest prevailing business practices and structures. The role and regulation of intermediaries in transnational labour governance is also considered.
