Abstract

Abstract By integrating assessment data with coaching relationships, organizations can draw on the complementary advantages of each to drive individual growth and organizational value. Assessment-infused coaching uniquely blends standardization with personalization, and operational efficiency with participant engagement. This chapter provides an overview of the principles and evidence-based recommendations for development-centric assessments applied to a development-centric coaching program and platform. Areas of emphasis and explication include foundational principles for developmental assessment, details of and differentiating features of an example content model created for this purpose, considerations for integrating human (coach-centered) and digital (platform-centered) interventions, and value drivers for this form of assessment for participants, organizations, and coaches. The chapter closes with a discussion of risks and remediating recommendations for the use of assessment in developmental settings.
