Abstract

Abstract Scholars of asset building for the poor, such as Michael Sherraden, the editor of this volume, present a compelling case. They argue convincingly that to advocate exclusively for increasing the consumption opportunities for the poor and to ignore asset building is to miss a deeper understanding of poverty’s causes and cures.
