Abstract

Abstract We report a unique case of a 67-year-old man with a typical carcinoid of the middle mediastinum that adhered tightly to the pericardium, the posterior part of the ascending aorta and the pulmonary trunk, that was radically resected with the patient on cardiopulmonary bypass by clamping, sectioning and suturing the ascending aorta.
