Abstract

We present a case of human T-lymphotropic virus-1-associated lichenoid dermatitis (HALD). This initially presented as a severe and diffuse, erosive, scaly dermatitis, and evolved over months and years to a reticulated dyspigmented eruption, with involvement of the skin, hair, nails and mucosae. HALD is a rarely reported phenomenon that has diverse dermatological manifestations. We highlight this case due the severity of the cutaneous features and to add to the existing literature on HALD.
