Abstract
Abstract
We report the discovery of an expanding cylinder of H i gas of radius 1 kpc and vertical extent 800 pc by analyzing the 21 cm line survey data from the literature. The cylinder is expanding at 150 km s−1, rotating at 100 km s−1, and is interpreted as due to a high-velocity conical wind from the Galactic Center. The total mass of the cylinder is estimated to be ∼8.5 × 105M⊙ and kinetic energy ∼3 × 1053 erg.
