Abstract
Abstract
This chapter focuses on the actors of international economic law. It starts with the subjects of international law, which is primarily the States, and the actors in international economic relations. The scope of actors in international economic relations reaches well beyond international legal subjects as they shape today’s international economic acne and influence the formulation of rules and standards. The chapter mentions the significance of the development of human rights standards and the possibility of investors bringing claims against a State before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). It then discusses the interplay between private enterprises and standards for transnational corporations.
