Abstract

We sought to explore several ethical issues relating to opportunistic detection of melanoma, given current controversies in melanoma control. We suggest that these should be considered in conjunction with the quantitative yardsticks that accompany decision-making about disease detection. Researchers should focus on capturing and providing evidence to support decision-making for patients and their doctors.
