Abstract
This chapter presents up-to-date research on death, religion, and digital media, covering areas such as digital theologies; theologies of death, religion, and media; digital legacy; and the death-tech industry. The central argument of the chapter is that the impact of digital media in the context of death and dying needs to be examined and engaged with in-depth by those working in practical religion, death studies, and theology. The chapter also suggests that the area of digital afterlife needs to be considered and wrestled with in depth since this area is having an impact on people’s lives and yet remains an area barely discussed in faith settings.
