Abstract

Abstract This chapter explores a number of individual differences that are relevant to organizational research from a neuroscience perspective. The topics explored include intelligence, empathy, regulatory focus, attention deficit disorder, and autism. Some of these topics have been widely studied in the organizational literature, while others have received relatively little attention. While there are many potential topics we could include, we chose these to provide a varied sampling of topics with recent and interesting findings. Our purpose here is not to provide an in-depth review of each of these areas, but rather to introduce readers to a number novel findings and methods from the neuroscience literature that provide new insights into these topics. We hope that this will inspire new directions for research and practice in these and other topics where neuroscience can advance our understanding.
