Communicating Genetics within Primary Care Practice

Abstract

GPs have a wealth of experience in communicating with the families attending their practice. However, many GPs still feel that good communication can be the most difficult part of their role especially when dealing with patients who are fearful of the answers, angry at the outcome of discussions or when the GP feels the answer is not clear or distressing.
